Since its beginnings in 1926 as paradise found for the Hollywood elite, La Quinta, California, grew into an all-embracing nirvana for planners seeking a premier destination in the desert sunshine. Guests at La Quinta Resort & Club—including Oprah Winfrey, Matthew Perry, and Christina Aguilera—follow in the footsteps of Frank Capra, Marilyn Monroe, the Rat Pack, and others inspired and rejuvenated by life in the valley of Palm Springs.
Like La Quinta’s low-rise residential enclaves, which shelter 796 rooms and suites, the two grand ballrooms and 34 meeting rooms reflect the resort’s roots in the mission style while integrating the latest in flexibility and technology. On-site destination management, conference services, and audiovisual teams handle all group dynamics, from business presentations to theme parties to activities at Spa La Quinta and world-class golf courses at hand. Showered in year-round sun, the resort’s 45 acres contribute endless possibilities for festivities accompanied by clear skies, majestic palms, brilliant flowers, and fragrant orange and lemon groves.
Seven distinctive restaurants, an array of upscale shops and boutiques, 23 tennis courts, 41 pools, trails for biking and hiking, and a wide variety of group excursions guarantee something to suit every delegate’s fancy. But above all, highly personalized service defines the La Quinta experience.

One of the great old places. I liked the lay-out, little neighborhoods of smaller buildings and each cluster has their own pool. The new condo development on the outskirts of the property is luxurious and definitely the preferred accommodations. Rooms in the original part of the hotel were big but under-furnished. On-site restos very good with excellent innovative cuisine. Beautiful tennis garden - all services. Golf courses everywhere. It\'s a very large resort with lots of rooms spread out over a big area. You just have to make sure that is the right physical lay-out for your group. Palm Springs and Coachella Valley are bustling areas with lots to do.

La Quinta is a beautiful property. There is however an issue with the a/c in the large ballrooms. It seems they never really cooled down. The food in the restaurants is great. The banquet food is so so.

I went there on a FAM, the hotel has great rates in the off season. It is about 15-20min from Palm Springs airport. The meeting space is close to the foyer and main entrance into the hotel. The rooms are spread out amongst the hotel. There is a large outdoor space that is great for evening events under the stars.

Our partners still talk about "the year we went to La Quinta" as being one of the *best* meetings we've ever had. In my 15 years with the firm, I often refer to that meeting as my most successful event. Awesome property!

Great location for groups of 100 to 150. Food and beverage is top notch. Catering staff is the best I've worked with. Landscaping staff must work 24/7 because the grounds are incredible. Some rooms could use a little attention to detail - but overall, my favorite property. Watch for great values in off-season.

It is not always easy accommodating the requests of 150 advertising executives from 75 countries, but La Quinta Resort & Club met the task.

Our clients really like this resort for it's distance from the LA area and the proximity to golf. We invite many clients year over year and they all enjoy it. The staff and conference team are very helpful and accommodating. There isn't much else to do in Palm Springs if you are not at the resort or golfing. Some people really like the old style and charm. I find the hotel rooms to be a little tired and the hotel is not as nice as some of the others of it's caliber due to it's age, but the old style charm seems to really agree with our clients.

LA QUINTA, Calif., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Tom Gorman, a world-renowned tennis player and successful Davis Cup captain, has been named Director of Tennis of the legendary La Quinta Resort & PGA West(TM) in the Palm Springs desert area. Gorman was one of the founding tennis professionals that originally developed La Quinta Resort's award-winning tennis program in the late 1970s. In 1986, Tom was named the U.S. Men's David Cup Captain and Coach, a position he held for eight years. During that time, he was also selected as coach of the U.S. Men's Olympic Tennis team in Seoul, Korea and Barcelona, Spain. The highlight of coaching the Davis Cup teams was first winning the Davis Cup World Championship title in 1990 against Australia and then again in 1992 defeating Switzerland with the "Dream Team," consisting of Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, Pete Sampras and Jim Courier. In 2001, Tom and Chilean Jaime Fillol won the Senior Masters Double title at the U.S. Open. A Seattle native, Tom graduated from Seattle University.
