Elite Overview
From the editors of Elite Meetings
Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort offers planners luxur y, choice, and convenience on a monumental scale. Just ten minutes from Cancún International Airport, the all-inclusive, 2,457-room playground boasts conference facilities among the largest, most flexible, most technologically sophisticated in Mexico. The largest events take place in the 55,850-square-foot Universal Ballroom Lower Level, which seats up to 5,000 people. Upstairs, another 36,000 square feet includes the Universal Ballroom Upper Level and the Galactic Ballroom's 26,800 square feet, complete with a permanent stage and adjoining boardroom.
Attendees can build their leisure agenda from a vast constellation of possibilities, anything from lounging at the beach and two of the largest lagoon-style pools in all of Mexico to testing their mettle on a climbing wall and indulging at the spa. Golfers at the Moon Spa and Golf Club mix and match between three nine-hole courses—the only Jack Nicklaus Signature layout in Cancún. At day's end, guests not occupied with private events can dip into the complimentary lineup of 13 restaurants, 11 bars, live shows, theme parties, and Andromeda Disco.
The rooms and suites spread over 123 acres, many nestled along 2,000 feet of wide white beach and Caribbean Sea. All provide marble bathrooms, double in-room Jacuzzis, and balconies or terraces—some with cozy hammocks. VIPs in the Presidential and Junior Golf Suites enjoy additional perks, including spectacular views of the rolling fairways and personal golf carts for zipping around the grounds.

Overall Rating: 10.0/10
Hosted a sales incentive trip at the Moon Palace in May 2011 for 400 attendees, mostly women and their families
Staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Hardly a language barrier, most conference services staff were fluent in English.
Food & Beverage was outstanding, along with the many options on resort property.
I hosted most of my functions outside on beachfront property and all set-up specifications were executed very well.
Great resort! I would host an event here again and would recommend others do as well!

We received many e-mails from our customers and employees complimenting us on the event. They were—as we all were—thrilled with the Moon Palace.

Posted August 16, 2010
MIAMI, Fla. - Palace Resorts -- the company that surpasses the traditional definition of all-inclusive with the very best five-star service and amenities -- proudly announces Moon Palace Spa & Resort and Riviera Cancun Golf & Resorts have been awarded the Golf Environment Organization (GEO) Certification for its outstanding and environmentally friendly courses. The Palace Resorts properties are the first in Latin American to receive the distinguished certification, which is a result of adhering to the stringent requirements of the GEO process of certification such as environmental quality, design, construction, studies of impact, and environmental practices. With the esteemed recognition and endorsement of worldwide organizations including the United Nations (UN) and the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF), Palace Resorts golf courses pave the way as the leader of eco-tourism in Latin America.
"While placing heavy emphasis on creating the most noteworthy of championship courses, Palace Resorts strives to maintain the utmost eco-friendly environment in which courses are designed and built for a cohesive sustainability throughout all of its properties," said Roberto Chapur, president of Palace Resorts. "The magnitude of the GEO certification reinforces the giant leaps and efforts the Palace Resorts family has tackled in order to produce and uphold environmental integrity."
Palace Resorts invites golf enthusiasts to perfect their swing while discovering challenging courses set among the beautiful Mexican Caribbean landscape. The Moon Spa & Golf Club is home to the 27-hole, 7,165-yard, par-72 Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course set on the rolling Cancún Riviera Maya landscape. Its dynamic layout requires golfers to navigate through native vegetation as well as numerous wetlands and strategically placed bunkers. Riviera Cancun Golf & Resorts was introduced in September 2008 to Cancun. This Jack Nicklaus gem boasts strategic bunkering, immaculate greens, wooden bridges and the peaceful tranquility of the natural reserve that encompasses the course.
Avid golfers experience the ultimate tropical rounds at Palace Resorts -- the company that sets the standard in five-star, all-inclusive resort accommodations -- with the most valuable vacation promotion on record, 1,500 Vacation Dollars for Your Indulgences. MeetDifferent February 20-23, 2010
Posted August 11, 2009
When staff of Meeting Professional International chose Cancun, Mexico, for the association's 2010 MeetDifferent conference, it had many hotel options to choose.
After several site inspections, MPI settled on Moon Palace, the crown jewel in the Palace Resorts chain of all-inclusive resorts that dot the Yucatan Peninsula and Caribbean.
With support from the Mexico Tourism Board and the Cancun Convention & Visitors Bureau, MPI members will have a chance to explore the all-inclusive option for their own groups.
Members will enjoy the same innovative qualities the conference always offers, said Bruce MacMillan, president and CEO of MPI, at the recent World Education Conference in Salt Lake City.
MOON PALACE GOLF & SPA RESORT TO HOST GLOBAL FLU SUMMIT IN CANCUN, MEXICO
Posted July 6, 2009
Acknowledged as one of the world's finest meeting properties, Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort in Cancún, Mexico, has been chosen to host the Global Flu Summit on July 1-3, 2009. The Global Flu Summit is being held to reflect on the lessons learned from the Influenza A-H1N1 virus. Mexico's President Felipe Calderon will call the meeting to order on July 2, 2009 and attendees will then collaborate resources from around the world to uncover tools to prevent, limit and mitigate the pandemic.
Attendees include the World Health Organization General Director Margaret Chan, who recently praised Mexico for the openness and speed with which it implemented health measures, as well as Pan-American Health Organization General Director Mirta Roses, ministers of health from approximately 40 different countries and the highest level specialists and representatives from more than 50 countries. Mexico's immediate reaction, taking control of the epidemic in a matter of a month, and acquired knowledge is proof that the world can only benefit from Mexico's experience, said the country's Minister of Health.
Mexico has launched a massive campaign to bring back tourists, particularly to Pacific and Caribbean coast resorts including Cancun, after the H1N1 virus dealt a heavy blow to the industry. The Governor of Quintana Roo, Felix Gonzalez, emphasized the importance of this event, as it shows the reestablishment of confidence and trust in the country, especially in the Mexican Caribbean, where tourism continues to recuperate at a rapid pace and is almost back to normal seasonal occupancy levels. The Global Summit will not only position Mexico and Quintana Roo as a safe place for tourist activity, but also will serve as platform to exchange knowledge and information regarding Influenza A (H1N1) virus benefiting people around the worlds, added Gonzalez.
Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort was chosen to host The Global Flu Summit due to its stunning meeting facilities at the largest convention center in Cancún, as well as its reputation for five-star service and amenities. The extraordinary conference center facilities include 142,000 square feet of flexible meeting space with permanent staging, the capacity for up to 8,600 attendees, and the option of 40 breakouts. Serving as one of the most technologically sophisticated resorts in Mexico, high tech board of director rooms and a business center will make these conference facilities ideal for the Global Flu Summit.
Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort is located on Cancun's tranquil south shore, nestled between 123 acres of tropical foliage and secluded white sand beach. This quintessential family resort offers something for everyone, starting with 2,457 luxurious rooms, including waterside and garden view accommodations or golf villa suites. Two of the largest lagoon-style pools in Mexico wind their way along the beach for more than 650 feet and are complemented by two children's pools, one Golf Club pool, six Jacuzzis and four swim-up bars. Additional on-site adventures range from a water sports marina and sporting activities to a fully equipped fitness center and private Kids Club. The Moon Spa & Golf Club is home to the only Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course in Cancun and one of Palace Resorts' signature spas, which offers a complete hydrotherapy journey and signature treatments for the body and soul. Travelers enjoy a variety of international delights at 13 restaurants and premium beverages and nightly entertainment at 11 bars and lounges.
